about

The first four entries in my Pandora Unlocked series were experiments in different genres. Pandora Unlocked: Interstellar Black is an attempt to tell a more cohesive story - to that end, it includes a novelette that I wrote using the same themes and "narrative" as the music.

Something hidden in the darkness strikes out to shatter our world. We deal with it as best as we can, being forever changed through the process. Sometimes we are able to overcome these dark leviathans and leave them behind; often we must continue our struggle through our lifetimes; and once and a while, they get the best of us.

We all deal with pain. We all face mortality. We are all travelling between the light of the stars, facing our own stretches of the unknown.

But even through the darkest journeys, we can still find hope.

All proceeds from the first month of album sales went to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, leading in to their annual Brain Tumour Walk on June 10. Go to www.braintumour.ca for more information, or to donate directly. Thanks to everyone who contributed during the donation period!

Special thank you to Luftrum for Lifetime Access to his synth sounds.

(Note: No Generative AI was used for the album art or the attached novella.)

Luftrum, the sound designer who provides the sounds I use, has released an album of soundset demos. It is for the soundset I used in The Burning Darkness, After the Agony, and Cryoh Wound. Check this out if you like those tracks!
