about

This album was originally a charity release intended for Coalition for Rainforest Nations. I am not actively forwarding funds any longer due to the tracking and overhead needed, but I encourage you to download this album for free and donate on your own instead. For details of the campaign, please see the following:

The short story of Pandora Unlocked:
This is a "Cinematic" / Soundtrack-esque album made with synthesizer settings from a particular, extremely talented, group of sound designers under the Luftrum banner (www.luftrum.com). Every song tells some kind of story; I've included a quick reference in the download files as well. I am a hobbyist composer who can only budget for a very small fraction of the packs they release, but won access to all of them through a contest. I will not be using these on Hollywood blockbusters or E3-level video games, but I still wanted to do something to give back to the world; thus, I decided to make some charity release albums using these sounds.

Each track on the album exclusively uses settings from one particular pack, plus some drum sounds and minimal effects, effectively making them "demos" for these packs.

Pandora Unlocked - Other Albums:
There are 3 companion albums to this one, with different genres and charities (but overlapping sound packs). Once they are complete I will add them to my Bandcamp catalogue, but if you'd like a sneak peek please see below:

Pandora Unlocked: Neon Pink (Synthwave) - for Equality Now (petergagliardi.bandcamp.com/album/pandora-unlocked-neon-pink)
Pandora Unlocked: Crimson Red (Psychill) - for MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières aka Doctors without Borders) (petergagliardi.bandcamp.com/album/pandora-unlocked-crimson-red)
Pandora Unlocked: Ocean Blue (Ambient) - for charity: water (petergagliardi.bandcamp.com/album/pandora-unlocked-ocean-blue)

Charity:
I have chosen Coalition for Rainforest Nations because Climate Change is an important issue for our future. We must strive to leave this world in a sustainable place for the generations to come, and there is a lot of ground to cover here. While there is a lot we need to do in terms of innovation and energy sustainability, there is still much we can do in getting the basics right; things such as reducing and reversing deforestation. I have read that this group is able to offset 1 metric ton of CO2 for 0.12 USD; a donation of $8 USD (roughly $10 CAD) would result in about 66 metric tons reduced - equivalent to 3 people's worth in Canada, 4 in the USA, 10 in Denmark, or 12 in the UK.

More on Coalition for Rainforest Nations:
The Coalition for Rainforest Nations seeks to create sound and long-lasting opportunities for environmental sustainability, social and economic advancement, strengthened capacity and international market reform in a manner that enhances tropical forest stewardship, biodiversity conservation and global climate stability by reversing the destruction of tropical rainforests.

We develop policy and tools that endeavor to achieve sustainability for forested and adjacent agricultural lands, and in the process:
-Manage tropical rainforest areas in support of climate stability, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and poverty alleviation
-Create innovative financial tools in partnership with Governments, communities, business and relevant stakeholders
-Enable sustainable livelihoods that improve living-standards for forest dependent communities
-Set a precedent and enable similar outcomes other tropically forested countries.
