about

This album was originally a charity release intended for MSF / Doctors Without Borders. I am not actively forwarding funds any longer due to the tracking and overhead needed, but I encourage you to download this album for free and donate on your own instead. For details of the campaign, please see the following:

The short story of Pandora Unlocked:
This is a Psychill album made with synthesizer settings from a particular, extremely talented, group of sound designers under the Luftrum banner (www.luftrum.com). I am a hobbyist composer who can only budget for a very small fraction of the packs they release, but won access to all of them through a contest. I will not be using these on Hollywood blockbusters or E3-level video games, but I still wanted to do something to give back to the world; thus, I decided to make some charity release albums using these sounds.

Each track on the album exclusively uses settings from one particular pack, plus some drum sounds and minimal effects, effectively making them "demos" for these packs.

Pandora Unlocked - Other Albums:
There are 3 companion albums to this one, with different genres and charities (but overlapping sound packs). Once they are complete I will add them to my Bandcamp catalogue, but if you'd like a sneak peek please see below:

Pandora Unlocked: Neon Pink (Synthwave) - for Equality Now (petergagliardi.bandcamp.com/album/pandora-unlocked-neon-pink)
Pandora Unlocked: Forest Green (Cinematic) - for Coalition for Rainforest Nations (petergagliardi.bandcamp.com/album/pandora-unlocked-forest-green)
Pandora Unlocked: Ocean Blue (Ambient) for charity: water (petergagliardi.bandcamp.com/album/pandora-unlocked-ocean-blue)

Charity:
I have chosen MSF because I believe that the world needs to work together on medical issues - especially in light of behaviours seen through the COVID-19 response. The more we work together to solve medical issues, the more we all benefit. Besides, the value of a human life should not depend on wealth, ideology, conflict, disaster, language, race, gender, or the country they live in.

More on MSF (from their own description):
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) translates to Doctors without Borders. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our teams are made up of tens of thousands of health professionals, logistic and administrative staff - bound together by our charter. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence and neutrality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation.

MSF was founded in 1971 in Paris by a group of journalists and doctors. Today, we are a worldwide movement of nearly 65,000 people.
